First off, this series, at least the first volume is not ero at all. If you were expecting Wasurenagusa level of heat, forget it right now or you will just let yourself down.
What this turned out to be was a bittersweet love story between a girl so heart broken she decided to leave this world and the shinigami who was there to see her off to the other side. The almost millennia year old Akira felt it was about that time again to find entertainment and chose you, finding you on a cliff ready to take your own life. With the promise that he would send you over to the other side, you decide to accept his offer and stay with him until the next full moon (so, for about a month). I say offer but he actually didn’t give you any choice XD
Akira, naturally after living as long as he has, has lost all of his senses (taste and touch, the ability to feel warmth and cold…) but says he can smell a sweet fragrance from your soul and finds warmth in you. Still he is aware that he is what he is - and you are human even telling you, “If only I were human, I could give you warmth. But even that I cannot do.” He does tease you but it’s not cruel, he has sincere interest in you, but I think you’ve already crossed over the line and even if you changed your mind and didn’t want to die, he wouldn’t be able to change that for you. And so you spend your last few days together knowing that you’ve developed feelings for each other but at the same time you will part eventually.
And similar to Nezumi in No.6 where he sends the dead off with a song, Akira does the same for you (I think all of them will) and laments that he will live another cold emotionless millenium, and even if he forgets your warmth, the pain of losing you will linger with him for always and thus he shall never forget you.
Of course. Of course. I should have seen this coming, it is REJET after all. I should have known that it was going to be a 切ない love story orz.
Also. Nojima Kenji and his low octave. Hot diggity dog. How do adore thee!! I don’t think I’ve heard him play a role using this octave before. And it took a bit to adjust when he started singing because his voice went half an octave up when singing XD it was still really amazing to listen to.
